I was lying in a field of pure green
The rain was falling gently across God's earth
And with a smile, I lay willingly
Feeling the cool waters wash away my stress
But as the rain began to ease
The Sun began to shine
And through the greyness of the air
Came the blue skies piercing through the clouds
And how the light shone through the rain drops
To create an image as beautiful as love
My heart warmed as I gazed upon
The beauty of the rainbow
I visited that field every time it rained
I obsessed myself with the memory
Desperately seeking that scene again
My heart pleading for its return
One summer day, as I lay
I spied something from near by
I sat up and looked closer
And my heart skipped a beat
For there you stood, my michelleleo
A curious soul wandering the Earth
Looking for something you did not know
Perhaps the beauty of the rainbow?
Then the rain once again fell
You stood there, freezing and soaked
So I ran over, smiled at you
And I gave you my coat
You cried for home, but I pleaded not
For I wanted to share with you
The amazing gift that God would give
The beauty that once knew
So together we did lie in a field of pure green
The rain was falling gently across God's earth
And with a smile, I lay willingly
Whilst you trembled with uncertainty and cold
But soon the sun shone, and the trembling was gone
The blue skies flooded the grey
And once again, we were presented
With the beauty of the rainbow
So when the rain next falls
Go on outside
And wait for the sun to shine
I promise you this
All will seem bliss
When you witness the beauty of the rainbow
