Literature Text

I hear the piano playing.
A soft melody of most gentle notes,
A score that reaches the most deaf of men
And merits tears from so heavily guarded hearts.

How bitter-sweet the harmony is,
That such beautiful chords,
Should be the anthem of the tragedy;
The tide of the river of tears.
The rippling effects of sadness,
Told by a devastating graceful melody.

Every man knows the price of Spring;
For new life to grow from the ashes of Winter,
The fallen brethren of the Autumn death
Must be wept upon by the Heavens.
Cry, Heavens, cry. Shed your sad tears.
For life is not without its tragedy;
Just as death is not without some hope.

The tears fall to the keys of the piano,
As they dance with the grace of ballet;
Each note though played oft'
Sounds with a new heartfelt presence,
The snowflakes of the sad score.
Perfect and unique; the cold tears of sweet music.

And I know that one day,
I will hear the final chords play,
But the river continues to flow,
And so we continue with the show.
I know that my story doesn't end here,
For I can still hear the piano play.
I was inspired by "Sparrow" by Miika Mettiainen at roughly 5:40am on a Sunday morning (the date of this being posted). It reminded me of a score I've heard all my life, playing in the background of my soul and mind, following like an anthem to my life. The piano has always meant much more to me than a mere instrument, though perhaps there is an irony and purpose as to why I've never been able to learn to play it.

I hope you enjoy this and I recommend you listen to the track whilst reading.

Love this. Absolutely love this. Despite how depressing it sounds, everything about it, word for word gave me the chills. There are so many people i wish to speak to who are no longer in this world and it's just sad to think about. Reading this really gave a huge impact and makes me think about appreciating people close to me much more. Thanks so much for sharing this with all of us ~ I truly appreciate it and wish to read more of your work. I haven't read anything like this in a while so this was quite refreshing and absolutely wonderful.
